Will fill seat held by late husband.

WHITEHALL, Pa. - There were no surprises in the special election to fill the seat of late State Representative Dan McNeill of Lehigh County Tuesday night.

Results posted on the county board of elections website show a resounding win for the widow of McNeill, Democrat Jeanne McNeill, in the race to represent the 133rd legislative district.

McNeill wound up getting just under 68 percent of the vote.

Republican David Molony had about 29 percent of the vote and Libertarian Samantha Dorney about 3 percent.

Nearly 3,400 votes were tallied in all.

The 133rd district includes portions of Bethlehem, Fountain Hill, Whitehall, Catasauqua, Coplay, and Salisbury Township.
