Judge hears arguments in DA's lawsuit against county

EASTON, Pa. - Who has the power to hand out promotions to Northampton County employees? A judge is sorting it out.

District Attorney John Morganelli has sued a group of county officials, including  county Executive John Stoffa.

Morganelli said he was blocked from making promotions in his office.

Stoffa said only county council can allow an employee's promotion to a higher pay grade.

A judge heard arguments in the case Thursday. We're told he'll issue a ruling at a later date.
