Judge: Injured firefighter's lawsuit can move forward

A federal judge said a lawsuit filed against a fire company in Northampton County can move forward.

The suit was filed by firefighter Stuart Mintz against the North Bangor Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Mount Bethel Township.

Mintz was injured when the fire truck he was riding in overturned in the township in 2010.

Police said former assistant fire Chief Zachary Romano was driving, and he was charged with driving under the influence.

The fire company sought to have the case dismissed, but a federal judge has determined that Mintz provided sufficient facts, so the case can move forward.
