Judge says no to putting clean air ordinance on Nov. ballot

Judge denies request for clean air ordinance on ballot

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A Lehigh County judge has decided that Allentown residents will not be voting on a proposed clean air ordinance in November.

A group called Allentown Residents for Clean Air filed a lawsuit Sept. 19 against the Lehigh County Elections Board for keeping the initiative off the ballot.

The group wanted to monitor emissions from Delta Thermo Energy's planned incinerator going next to the city's wastewater treatment plant.

Judge Michele Varricchio made the ruling Monday.
