K-9 units compete in Lehigh Co., raise money for fallen officers

K9 units compete

After losing another fellow brother, another K-9 officer in the line of duty, K-9 handlers and their counterparts came together in to compete and remember those they lost.

The Salisbury Township police department's K-9 unit hosted the event on Sunday in Lehigh Co.

It was started last year as a way to raise money for the family of Berks County sheriff deputy Kyle Pagerly.

This year, along with raising money for the Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund, organizers will make a donation to the families of Plymouth Township Police Officer Brad Fox and Freemansburg police officer Robert Lasso.

There are five events in the friendly competition and 25 K-9 handlers took part.

They raised about $5,000.
