Kevin Esterly to soon be brought back to Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The man who allegedly ran off with an Allentown teen will soon be brought back to Pennsylvania.

A source told 69 News Kevin Esterly, 45, would be brought back to Allentown from a Miami prison tomorrow, but Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said that report is erroneous.  The precise timing of Esterly’s return will not be made public, Martin said.

Esterly is being held in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami on a felony custodial interference charge after officials found him and Amy Yu, 16, in Mexico almost a week ago.

Esterly was in court Monday morning and agreed to be extradited back to Pennsylvania "as soon as possible," he told the judge.

Authorities have two weeks from Monday to pick Esterly up and bring him back to Allentown to be prosecuted.

Police said Esterly and Yu developed a secret relationship over the past few months before they disappeared together on March 5th.
