Owner seeks to demolish King George Inn

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - While all is well with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge across the pond, the same can't be said of "King George" in South Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co.

The landmark restaurant closed almost a year ago. Now, the former owner has applied for a demolition permit.

Township officials said they need to take care of some paperwork with utility companies before the permit can be issued.

The King George Inn has roots that date all the way back to the 1700s.
