Kmart closing store in Whitehall Township

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - Another Kmart store is closing its doors for good.

Mayor Ed Hozza announced the Kmart at the MacArthur Towne Center in Whitehall Township is going out of a business.

The store will have a sale running Tuesday, October 17 until Sunday, November 26.

Hozza said a retailer is buying the entire Kmart property. Whitehall Township Officials are hoping the retailer will hire many of the former Kmart employees.

The ailing company announced 28 store closings in August, including two in Pennsylvania. The Kmart on Tilghman Street in South Whitehall Township, near Allentown, and the store on Moreland Road in Willow Grove, Montgomery County, will be closing in mid-November.
