Labor and delivery no longer offered at Sacred Heart Hospital

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Moms planning to deliver their babies at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown on or after Oct. 10, will now have to deliver at St. Luke's Hospital's Allentown Campus.

According to Sacred Heart HealthCare System, their hospital at 421 Chew St., Allentown will no longer offer labor and delivery services. However, St. Luke's Allentown is only two miles from Sacred Heart Hospital, located at 1736 Hamilton Street, and that is the only change coming from the collaboration between Sacred Heart Obstetrics Services and St. Luke's University Health Network.

Patients will still be able to schedule appointments at Sacred Heart OB/GYN Services, Sigal Center for Family Medicine, as it will continue to provide prenatal visits, maternal fetal medicine visits and check-up visits after delivery. The facility will also continue to offer gynecology services to women at its location at 450 Chew Street in Allentown.
