Lafayette College asks for temporary dorms amid rise in applicants

EASTON, Pa. - In anticipation of a spike in enrollment, Lafayette College in Easton wants more dorms, but this time they would just be temporary.

The school is scheduled to go before the Easton Planning Commission Wednesday night to get permission to put in the temporary dorms.

The request comes in response to the record number of applicants for the incoming freshmen class, said Kristine Todaro, media relations for Lafayette College.

The college says it has received over 8,000 applicants for the class of 2021 so far, which is its fifth application record in six years.
