LCCC closes all campuses due to security threat; Classes to resume Wednesday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Lehigh Carbon Community College will resume classes Wednesday morning after a security threat closed all campuses Tuesday night.

Linda Baker, a LCCC spokesperson, says around 5:30 p.m. an alert was sent out to students and faculty concerning the closure of the downtown Allentown Donley campus per the urging of the Allentown Police Department.

Then all campuses were shut down "out of an abundance of caution," Baker said.

The Allentown Police Department described the threat as non-specific and confirmed an investigation is underway.

Assistant Chief Gail Struss said the Allentown Police Department received a call "warning of violence" at Allentown's Donley Center.

She said police are still investigating who made the call.

No one was harmed in the incident.

Classes are scheduled to resume Wednesday, according to LCCC’s website.
