Lehigh County attorney James Hickey suspended

Lehigh County Attorney James A. Hickey has been placed on temporary suspension in the commonwealth by the order of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

The court announced Thursday that Hickey, of the 1800 block of Troxell Street in Allentown, has been placed on this suspension after filing a joint petition consenting to it.

The court also says the suspension is based on his conviction, related to helping exchange city work for campaign contributions and other benefits to Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski. He pleaded guilty to one count of honest services wire fraud and one count of honest services mail fraud.

His suspension will go into effect Apr. 7.
