Lehigh University dedicates new baseball field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh University is celebrating a new home for its baseball team.

The school unveiled J. David Walker Field at Legacy Park with a dedication ceremony Saturday honoring the alumni who helped build the field.

Lehigh's head baseball coach Sean Leary said the upgrades prove the school is a true division one competitor.

"Well I think you can't always know what you don't have until you have it and so we bring recruits in now and it just pops. They look around the field and it just seems like this is a baseball school that cares a lot about what we're doing and about the success of the program when you see a first rate facility," he said.

One of those donations for the construction of the field came from 1988 graduate and former team captain Anthony Rinaldi, who gave $1 million.
