Lehigh Valley Phantoms giving fans chance to paint messages on the ice at PPL Center

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are giving fans a chance to leave their mark at the PPL Center.

The team is hosting a one-of-a-kind painting event right on the ice. Workers for the Phantoms got the idea after seeing some other teams around the NHL hold the same type of event.

Fans get to walk out on the ice and leave a message before the team leaves for the off-season.

Each person grabbed a cup of paint and picked their spot. Some even brought cardboard cut outs to make the letters perfect, while others painted their feelings for the team, leaving a message to their favorite player, or simply saying thanks for a great season.

The event for season ticket holders goes until 7 p.m. Monday.

Everyone can come down Tuesday to leave their message for the team. There are two sessions, one from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  and then another from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
