Lehigh Valley prepares for winter storm

S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - While some are still recovering from last week's storm, the rush is on to round up last-minute supplies.

Hardware stores are switching gears to make sure customers have everything they need ahead of Wednesday's storm.

Albright's Hardware Store in South Whitehall Township actually ordered more salt supplies Tuesday for people grabbing it last minute.

Most of the store is ready for spring, but employees had to dig out the shovels and other snow supplies from storage for people stocking up for the storm.

The store has also been getting calls from people who are hoping they can help them repair their snow equipment before it hits.

One thing they are sold out of though is generators.

"That was because of last week, a good amount of people didn't have power at all, in fact i think some in the area that still don't have power," said owner Kenneth Ringer.

The local PennDOT office said it expects to get crews out preparing the roads Tuesday evening.

Several municipalities and townships have already declared snow emergencies for Wednesday.
