Lehigh Valley young authors honored at Barnes and Noble

VIDEO: Lehigh Valley has some...

WHITEHALL, Pa. - Some students in the Lehigh Valley are being honored for turning their dreams into a reality.

Dozens of students from Lehigh Parkway Elementary showed off their new books at the Barnes and Noble at the Lehigh Valley Mall.

The third, fourth, and fifth graders were celebrated Thursday as student authors at a "Meet the Author" event.

The students have been working on the books for weeks.

One student spoke about the difficulties she faced putting her book together.

“We also had to publish it, and the editing, I think, was the hardest part...because there were a lot of things in there. I had to take out a lot!" said fifth-grader Kaitlyn.

She says her book was about Disney villains and historical figures fighting.

Altogether, the kids wrote 48 books.
