Lehigh Valley Zoo flourishes in spring-like weather

Video: Zoo flourishes

A weekend of 60 degree temperatures brought a large crowd to the Lehigh Valley Zoo.

On Sunday, dozens of visitors lined up outside the gate before the zoo opened.

The zoo says on an average day in February they only get a handful of visitors so the crowds who visited the zoo this weekend was a welcome sight.

"We've been anticipating a good weekend because of the good weather," said Samantha Wegman, the zoo's curator.

"This is quite a big boost for us."

Wegman says the additional ticket sales will help fund upcoming projects, including bringing giraffes to the zoo in early summer.
