Locals gather to show solidarity with Israel at JCC

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Members of the Lehigh Valley Jewish community came together Tuesday night for a solidarity gathering at the Jewish Community Center in Allentown in a show of support for Israel.

The gathering included talks from a group of residents who just returned from Israel as well as residents with relatives currently in the country.

During the event, 69 News spoke with a couple whose daughter is currently serving with the Israeli Department of Defense at a base near the crossing into the northern part of Gaza.

"We're worried and concerned. We hope she's safe. She has a really personal attachment to what's happening. And her very good friend.. one of the soldiers who died was her boyfriend. So we're proud of her and we're worried. We want it to end and want her to be home," said Robin Meir-Levi.

The gathering also included video messages from local members of Congress.
