Lower Nazareth road back open after water main break

LOWER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. - Crews were busy patching up a water main break and sinkhole that opened up in Lower Nazareth Township.

The break was reported Monday afternoon, on Hecktown Road in Lower Nazareth Township. A sinkhole about five feet wide and ten feet long has opened up in the area.

Crews were able to replace the broken pipe and patch up the sinkhole.

Officials say no homes were evacuated, but service was interrupted for some customers.

The road was closed between Presidential Drive and Frank Street for a few hours, but it reopened around 4:00 p.m.
