Major work almost completed on Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge

EASTON, Pa. - September brings with it the beginning of the last major work stage of the Route 22 Toll Bridge rehabilitation project, according to officials with the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

Information released Monday by the Commission indicated that a new split traffic pattern will be established overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. In the new pattern, Route 22 westbound traffic will be restricted to the right lane on the bridge's upstream side while eastbound traffic will be restricted to the right lane on the bridge's downstream side.

The split, officials say, will result in a cordoned work area in the middle of the bridge where work crews will conduct the "last major elements" of the rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation began in the early summer of 2013.

More information on the project and related restrictions and closures can be found at www.drjtbc.org/tollbridgerehab
