Man accused of punching, trying to run over wife

PALMER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A Glendon man was arraigned Monday after allegedly assaulting his wife and attempting to run her down in a mall parking lot.

Ditalian Scarbrough, 25, faces multiple charges after an alleged incident outside the Palmer Park Mall on June 6.

Palmer Township police responded to a domestic report at 8:35 p.m. after Scarbrough's wife walked into Bon-Ton with a bloody face, asking an employee for help.

According to the woman, she was arguing with Scarbrough in the car and he pulled into the Palmer Park Mall parking lot near Bon-Ton.

She says he then got out of the car and began throwing the victim's belongings out onto the grass, and then tried to throw her out of the car but she resisted, according to police.

Scarbrough then allegedly punched his wife in the face giving her a bloody nose.

After that the woman says she ran towards the mall.

Police say a witness reported seeing Scarbrough driving the car towards the victim at an excessive speed, causing the victim to jump onto the sidewalk at the front entrance to Bon-Ton.

According to police, Scarbrough called the police and authorities advised him to return to the mall, but he allegedly refused and did not answer any following phone calls.

Scarbrough is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment, and was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
