Man accused of using front-end loader to assault 73-year-old woman

UPPER MT. BETHEL TWP., Pa. - A 62-year-old Northampton County man is facing assault charges after he allegedly used a front-end loader to pin a 73-year-old woman against the ground, according to state police.

Police said it happened Saturday afternoon in the 1800 block of Potomac Street in Upper Mount Bethel Township when the man, who police are not identifying, drove a Cub Cadet front-end loader at the victim.

The man hit the victim with the front bucket and then pinned her to the ground by lowering the bucket, according to police.

The woman suffered bruising and red marks, police said.

The man is being charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

Police did not provide any information on what may have led to the incident.
