Man allegedly tries to head-butt arresting officers, damages patrol car

41-year-old accused a boy of stealing his phone

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A shirtless 41-year-old accused of punching out someone’s front window allegedly tried to head-butt the officers arresting him and damaged the patrol car once he was in custody.

Allentown police arrested Adrian S. Rosario following a fracas outside a North Law Street home Sunday evening. District Judge Michael Faulkner arraigned him late Sunday night, setting bail at $25,000.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Law Street about 6 p.m. Sunday to investigate a reported disturbance involving a man without a shirt. When officers arrived, the victim reported that Rosario accused her son of stealing his phone, according to court records.

He allegedly grabbed the minor by the arm, demanding he turn over his phone. The boy’s mother tried to separate them, prompting Rosario to punch her hand, according to records.

After they escaped into their home to call police, Rosario allegedly put his hand through a window. Police found Rosario running from the home with a bloodied hand.

As officers tried to apprehend him, Rosario allegedly resisted arrest by kicking, spitting and trying to head-butt officers. After they loaded him into a patrol car, Rosario kicked and damaged a quarter panel, according to records.

And to top it off, police allegedly found a small baggie of heroin in his pants pocket.

Authorities charged Rosario, no known address, with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, simple assault, institutional vandalism, harassment and possession of a controlled substance. He failed to post bail and was sent to Lehigh County Jail to await a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for March 6.
