Man charged in Allentown laundromat slashing headed to trial

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The man charged in a slashing outside an Allentown laundromat is headed to trial.

Gite Brooks, 55, was in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. A judge found there is enough evidence to move forward with the case.

Allentown police say Brooks slashed a 43-year-old man in the face and upper body. It happened at the Family Wash Day in the 900 block of Linden Street around 11:30 p.m. May 18th.

Brooks is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.

The victim was taken to the hospital but was okay.
