Man charged in fatal Allentown crash, believed to be in Dominican Republic

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An arrest warrant has been issued for a man involved in a crash in Allentown that left his passenger dead.

Fernando Hernandez, 20, is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI, homicide by vehicle and related charges in the Nov. 4th, 2017 crash, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

Hernandez's last known address is in the 200 block of Union Street in Allentown, but officials said he fled the country two days after the crash and is believed to be in the Dominican Republic.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Hamilton Street in Allentown.

Investigators said Hernandez was driving when he crossed into the other lane and crashed into another vehicle head-on.

Lizaida Antonetty, 21, who was a passenger in Hernandez's car, was killed.

Two people in the other car were injured.

Investigators say Hernandez was driving with a suspended license and while under the influence.
