Man in custody after high speed chase

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - Whitehall Police took 37-year-old Christopher Haller into custody Tuesday, after a high speed car chase.

Officer Kohler of the Whitehall Police Department observed the suspect in an Isuzu Rodeo just after 12:30 p.m., and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

When Haller failed to stop, a pursuit ensued. Haller weaved in and out of busy traffic, until he encountered stopped traffic at the intersection of MacArthur Road and Grape Street.

Haller proceeded to flee the scene on foot, where he was taken into custody in the middle of the northbound lanes of MacArthur Road.

Haller was wanted in connection with a knife point robbery that occurred at the Home Depot on MacArthur Road last week.

Haller has been charged with a slew of charges including robbery, aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension, reckless endangerment, escape and other offences approved by the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
