Man killed in fatal fire in Bethlehem Twp. ID'd

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Northampton County Coroner has identified the man killed in a Bethlehem Township fire Friday night.

Walter Proding, 88, the resident of the home that caught fire, died in the blaze.

Coroner Zach Lysek said that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The fire was reported around 9 p.m. at a home in the 3700 block of Iron Stone Road.

Explosions could be heard as columns of flame blasted from the home.

Authorities confirm multiple firemen had to be treated at the scene and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Their conditions are unknown.
