Man knocked pregnant girlfriend to floor, beat her

Police said Julius Kamara even stepped on a 9-month-old baby during attack

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Julius Papa Kamara of Allentown has been arrested for shoving and hitting his girlfriend, who is eight months pregnant.

The attack occurred at 11:38 p.m. Friday inside a home in the 1500 block of Lehigh Parkway South.

Allentown police were advised that the 32-year-old Kamara entered the home and started an argument with the victim.

Both witnesses and the victim told police that Kamara shoved the pregnant woman, knocking her to the floor. They said she landed face down on her abdomen. While she was down, they said, he struck her numerous times in the head and face.

Police were told Kamara then assaulted others in the home and stepped on a 9-month-old child while doing so.

The woman told police she had right leg pain and bleeding. She also said she had not felt her baby move since the attack.

The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, where she was being monitored in the labor and delivery room.

Kamara, who lives in the 1000 block of S. Hall Street, was committed to Lehigh County Prison. Bail was set at $10,000.

 He was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
