Man shot, killed in Allentown parking lot

City's 17th homicide this year

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police are investigating another homicide. It's the 17th in the city this year.

A man was shot and killed Wednesday night, police said.

Officials say around 8 p.m. officers were called to check on a person a vehicle in the parking lot of Hamilton Tower, in the 400 block of Hamilton Street.

When officers arrived, they found a male in the vehicle with gunshot wounds.

Police say they attempted CPR but it was too late.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area earlier in the evening.

A woman at the scene told 69 News the victim is her 19-year-old grandson, but his identity has not been released.

APD and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Homicide Task Force are investigating.
