Man, teen arrested in early-morning drug raid

Police allegedly find acid, ecstasy and pot

HANOVER TWP., Pa. - Authorities in Northampton County arrested a 26-year-old and a teenager after an early-morning drug raid turned up LSD, ecstasy and pot.

Michael M. Daday II and a 17-year-old male are facing drug charges following a search Friday of Daday’s home in the 900 block of Yorkshire Road in Hanover Township. District Judge Vivian Zumas arraigned Daday Friday afternoon, setting bail at $75,000 with a 10 percent cash option if approved by county pre-trial services.

Members of the Northampton County Drug Task Force served a search warrant on the Yorkshire Drive home about 6 a.m. Inside, officers found several people, including Daday in a second-floor bedroom.

Police searched the room and found a small safe in which officers discovered 89 stamps of LSD, eight capsules of MDMA or ecstasy and small plastic baggies, according to court records. Scattered through the room was a plastic baggie of pot, a digital scale, three metal grinders, rolling papers, a smoking pipe and a plastic container with a small amount of weed.

In the room next to Daday, police found a large bag of empty capsules that were the same as the capsules of ecstasy. Colonial Regional police said investigators also found $934 in cash

Police charged Daday with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, three misdemeanor counts of sale of a controlled substance and single misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities charged the 17-year-old with drug possession and possession with intent to deliver. The relationship between Daday and the teen was not immediately known.

Daday failed to post bail and was sent to Northampton County Prison to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 16.
