Man thrown from bucket truck in crash

Charles Austin of Wind Gap was thrown from the bucket when truck rolled down a hill.

Bucket truck accident send one to the hospital

LEHIGH TWP., Pa. - A 55-year-old tree trimmer was hurt Friday when the bucket truck he was riding in rolled down a hill. and hit a tree.

According to police in Lehigh Township, Northampton County, Charles Austin of Wind Gap was trimming a tree around 10:30 a.m. in the area of 724 Walnut Drive when the accident happened.

Police found the utility truck at the bottom of a hill on the property where it crashed into a tree.

The truck appears to have either rolled or slid down the grass hill where Austin was working, police said, and he was thrown from the bucket during the crash.

Austin was flown to St. Luke's Hospital. He is listed in fair condition.
