Masked man robs Hanover Township hotel at gunpoint

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a Lehigh County hotel at gunpoint.

According to police, the armed robbery happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Red Roof Inn in the 1800 block of Catasauqua Road in Hanover Township.

Police say the suspect entered the hotel, displayed a silver and black handgun and told the staff to place an undisclosed amount of money into a black backpack.

He then fled the scene on foot. Police say he could have met up with a getaway vehicle in the area.

Authorities describe the male suspect as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, and wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
