Meet the first Lehigh Valley babies of 2017

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - As the Lehigh Valley welcomed in the new year Sunday some parents welcomed new babies to their families.

At Saint Luke's Hospital, Rodrigo Baptista was born just 43 minutes into the New Year, the first in the Lehigh Valley.

He weighs 8 lbs.,12 oz and is 19.5 inches. Rodrigo's father, Nicholas, is a firefighter in Elizabeth, N.J. His mother, Carolina, will stay home and take good care him. Rodrigo is their first child.

Then at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, a baby was born at 1:04 a.m., the second of the new year.

And finally, at 1:21 a.m., little Gabriella Rose was welcomed to the world at Sacred Heart Hospital by her mother, Michelle, and father, Elvin.
