Military plane conducting flight exercise cause of loud noises heard in Lehigh Valley

HELLERTOWN, Pa. - A military plane conducting a flight exercise was the cause of loud noises heard by numerous people in the Lehigh Valley Friday night.

Several people from Hellertown sent messages to 69 News inquiring about a loud, fast aircraft flying over their homes in Hellertown between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Military planes frequently conduct flight exercises in the area, although usually during the day, said Colin Riccobon, a Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority spokesman.

Military planes are permitted to land at Lehigh Valley International Airport at anytime, Riccobon said.
