Missing Allentown woman found safe in NJ

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown woman who failed to show up to meet her father Tuesday was found alive in New Jersey by K-9 officers, police said.

Lisa Stengel, 29, lives in the 700 block of North 20th Street.

She was reported missing Tuesday.

Police said she was found at 12:01 a.m. Thursday at Round Valley State Park in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, N.J.

Investigators say K-9 officers found Stengel semi-conscious beneath underbrush in a wooded area north of the parking lot.

Police says Stengel had consumed a large quantity of alcohol and over-the-counter medication.

Stengel was taken to Hunterdon County Medical Center.

Her family told police that Stengel suffers from mental health issues.
