Mother finds marijuana in son's room, calls police

20-year-old Corey James Youngkin of Palmer Township arrested

PALMER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A 20-year-old Palmer Township man was arrested on drug charges after his mother contacted police about marijuana she found in his bedroom Sunday.

Corey James Youngkin was arrested Tuesday and committed to Northampton County Prison, unable to post $20,000 bail.

Youngkin resides at 700 S. Greenwood Ave. in the township.

In his bedroom at that address, township police found nine large, clear plastic zip lock sandwich baggies containing marijuana, which weighed 214 grams.

Police also found suspected marijuana in eight smaller biggies. And they found 93 smaller clear baggies that are used for packaging marijuana and a digital scale.

Youngkin has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for  9 a.m. March 25 before Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline Taschner in Easton.
