Mounted Police ready for anything

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - If Tuesday's World Cup viewing party gets out of hand, the Bethlehem Mounted Police will be ready.

The department has received new protective equipment for both the horses and the officers.

Officials say the Mounted Police have spent the past month training with ground officers from the City of Bethlehem, the Lancaster City Police Mounted Unit and the PA State Police Tactical Mounted Unit.

The department says the protective gear will be used in the unlikely event of a civil disturbance in Bethlehem.
