Judge dismisses murder charges against Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka

Wrestling legend accused in girlfriend's killing

VIDEO: Judge dismisses murder charges...

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The homicide charges against former wrestling legend Jimmy Snuka have been dismissed.

Judge Kelly Banach dismissed the charges Tuesday during an unscheduled hearing, Snuka's attorney and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office confirmed.

Last summer, Snuka was found incompetent to stand trial for the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, at a motel in Whitehall Township.

Snuka faced third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges in the case.

Snuka's defense team argued that the former wrestling star has dementia and does not recognize his own wife.

Snuka currently lives in Florida.

In August, both the defense and prosecution asked Banach to drop the case if she believed Snuka would not get better. At that time, she said she needed more time to see if his condition improved.

She said Tuesday it was not improving and dismissed the charges.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said his office is considering its options.
