Nazareth pair plead guilty in rape of unconscious woman

NAZARETH, Pa. - Two men pleaded guilty to aggravated indecent assault without consent after telling authorities they raped an unconscious woman in her Nazareth home.

Tyler W. Clark pleaded Feb. 16 in Northampton County Court and was sentenced to spend two to four years in state prison with a five-year probation afterward. Documents say he must also register as a sex offender for a lifetime and is required to undergo sex offender treatment.

Jonathan P. Mayers Sr. pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to one to two years in state prison and three years probation. He must also register as a sex offender for a lifetime and is required to undergo sex offender treatment.

The incident occurred back in November 2016. The victim told investigators that she had been at Kickers Pub in Bath the night before celebrating her birthday, when she met two men later identified as Clark and Mayers, according to court records. The two men reportedly bought her drinks.

During an interview with police about three weeks after the alleged attack, Mayers admitted that he and Clark met the woman at the bar and later went to her home, according to records.

They continued to drink with her for about another hour until she nearly passed out, according to records. Mayers told police that he carried her into the house, where she was undressed by Clark.

He then admitted that they both sexually assaulted the victim while she was unconscious. After retrieving Mayers' car from Kickers, authorities said Clark returned to the house and assaulted the victim a second time.

Investigators said they secured a search warrant for both suspect's DNA, which linked them to the attack.
