Neighbor rescues child from fire in...

ALLENTOWN, Pa . - A neighbor braved a fire and saved a child from serious injury in Allentown Thursday night.

Flames broke out around 5 p.m. at a home in the 13-hundred block of West Liberty Street.

Fire officials say a neighbor ran into the home as it was burning and carried an 8-year-old girl had to safety.

Officials say the fire started in a second floor bedroom and was put out quickly by firefighters. 

However, three children, their mother, and the heroic neighbor were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

No word yet on the cause of the fire. 

Red Cross is assisting the victims.
