Niyaz Sainudeen, of Bethlehem, pleads guilty to possessing child porn

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - A Bethlehem man has pleaded guilty to a list of child pornography charges.

Niyaz Sainudeen admitted in federal court Thursday to distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography, officials said.

Investigators said they found more than 5,000 images of child pornography on Sainudeen's personal computer after searching his home on March 8.

The search was prompted after Sainudeen engaged in an online chat with an undercover agent.

Sainudeen, 41, was later arrested at JFK Airport in New York City, where officials said he was attempting to flee to India.

Sainudeen will be formally sentenced Feb. 22. He's facing up to 70 years in prison.
