Northampton, Monroe County high schools hold Dance-A-Thons

High schools in Monroe and Northampton counties held Dance-A-Thons over the weekend.

In Northampton County, hundreds of Notre Dame High School students danced the night away for an important cause.

They danced 24 hours straight during a Mini-THON.

It was held in conjunction with the Penn State THON raising money to help pediatric cancer patients and promote cancer research.

This was the tenth year Notre Dame held the event.

The students started dancing Friday night and wrapped up Saturday night.

In Monroe County, another Mini-Thon was celebrated at Pleasant Valley High School.

Students danced and participated in other fun activities Saturday morning and afternoon.

The event even included a visit from the famed Penn State Nittany Lion.
