Nurse accused of inappropriate conduct with inmate waives hearing

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Danika Alexander waived her preliminary hearing Monday and will head to court Dec. 11 for her formal arraignment on charges of institutional sexual assault.

The 27-year-old nurse from Whitehall Township was formerly employed at Lehigh County Jail when she was accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a prisoner.

Investigators say recorded phone calls between June and July revealed Alexander was having a sexual relationship with one of the inmates within the jail.
