One dead in Lehigh Township shooting

LEHIGH TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A double shooting in Lehigh Township, Northampton County Wednesday night killed a man and sent his wife to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to Lehigh Township Police Chief Scott Fogel, the shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Longacre Drive in the Cherryville section of Lehigh Township.

The victims are husband and wife.

Chief Fogel says they are fairly certain who the suspect is, where the person may be, and adds he does not believe the public is in danger.

However, he did not elaborate on who the suspect is.

The investigation continues and no motive has been determined, according to Fogel.
