One-of-a-kind boat race makes waves on Lehigh River

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A one-of-a-kind boat race made waves on the Lehigh River.

The eight-foot boats that raced across the river Saturday were made of plywood.

The lightweight boats took off from Adams Island in Allentown.

The design of the boats dates back many decades, and the group that organized Saturday's race said the boats haven't changed much since that time.
