Paddling through the history of Delaware River

EASTON, Pa. - About 90 paddlers are taking part in an educational trip down the Delaware.

The 21st annual Delaware River Sojourn kicked off Thursday. Organizers said the goal of the event is to teach participants about the natural history of the Delaware River and to expose them to getting outdoors.

Ian Kindle with the Delaware Canal State Park said, "people can come along one day or they can come along for the whole seven or eight days of the entire trip. It's a great way to both learn about the river and get more into paddling and experiencing nature from a first-hand perspective out on the river."

The group will paddle through Easton to Riegelsville.

Organizers said it's a great activity for experienced paddlers and first-timers.
