Pair convicted of trying to kill cop after bank robbery

EMMAUS, Pa. - Two men accused in a brazen bank robbery have been convicted of trying to kill a police officer.

The guilty verdict for Hishamu Curry and Isaah Sampson was handed down Monday.

The pair were also convicted of three counts of robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer and on a bank employee.

Police said Curry, Sampson and Edward Maye robbed the KNBT Bank on Main St. in Emmaus, Lehigh Co., last December. They said the men pistol-whipped the employee and then shot up a police car during their getaway.

Maye pleaded guilty last month. He was sentenced to 22 to 45 years in prison.
