Phantoms fans sign steel beam

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Fans of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms are putting the finishing touches on part of the new arena.

The team invited all season ticket holders to sign a steel beam Thursday night.

That beam will be used in the construction of the PPL Center.

Fans we spoke with say they can't wait for the puck to finally drop in Allentown.

"I've never bought season tickets for anything. But I've been waiting for hockey for so long. And I live closer to the Wilkes-Barre area but I'm a big Flyers fan so I'm so happy that the Phantoms are coming here," said Robert Kiech.

After the signing many fans stuck around for the city's "Party on the Deck!"
