Philadelphia 76ers headed to Allentown for first time in 40 years

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - For the first time in four decades, the Philadelphia 76ers are coming to play in Allentown.

On October 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Sixers will take on the Orlando Magic as part of their 2014 preseason.

The Sixers have not played in Allentown since October of 1974 in an exhibition game against the New York Nets, which they won 109 to 89 as Nets player Julius Erving sat out.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online, by phone at 610-347-TIXX or at the PPL Center Box Office located in the Phan shop.
