Phillipsburg lawns could be sporting wrong mascot

VIDEO: Phillipsburg lawns could be...

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. - The countdown is on to one of the region's most anticipated turkey day traditions: the Easton-Phillipsburg football game.

The Phillipsburg High School senior class is using the friendly competition to help raise money.

The class is surprising some Phillipsburg supporters with yard signs that read ‘You’ve been run over by a Rover.’

Stateliner fans can then pay money to have a ‘rover remover’ pick up the signs and place them on another lawn.

"We thought what will people in the town of Phillipsburg not want in their yards? A rover in November, obviously,” said Jenna Sokolowski, one of Phillipsburg’s senior class advisors.

Phillipsburg’s senior class said they have placed signs on dozens of lawns and raised over $1,000. The money will be used for senior class events.
